MISSING CHILDREN and The Secret Behind the Painting "SURREAL MOMENT"

When I stumbled upon the Honor With Art Project I immediately knew I had to participate – it all tied in with my strong believes.
This a project dedicated to the cause of missing and exploited children through works of art. Shawn Marie Hardy’s, mine and, I am sure it is safe to assume, all (100?) others that have joined her, hope to jointly bring awareness and keep it alive through this artistic, creative process.

My "Artist 's Statement"

I cannot imagine a life void of a strong aesthetic consciousness/balance. My motto: “Life as Art/Art as Life” - “All is One/All is Interconnected”

Having been blessed with a strong creative energy and an unbridled desire to express myself has finally materialized as a full time adventure.
As an autodidact that has never been entirely comfortable “being taught or instructed”, still crave and find great joy in exploring, discovering and learning every day.
Also, having forever expressed myself creatively through writing, speaking, photography and any other mediums I could access, I enter my 60's carrying a rich and often intensely lived life, with the commitment to surrender completely “to the creative lifestyle”.

Currently my work greatly reflects my emotions, observations and views as they translate into life metaphors.

Concerned with the kind of example currently provided to younger generations and feeling responsible to contribute toward a healthy, wholesome and inspired legacy, the focus of my work will consistently turn to offer social commentary and be concerned with societal views and attitudes, including gender issues, hoping to foster a shift towards further cooperation, harmony and compassion, as well as passion!

Route of "The Sacred"

Besides still indulging in some occasional “Flights of Fancy”, I am currently also focusing on the "makings" of my “Integrationist Movement”. While working and researching this new and entirely different series of acrylics and writing project, focusing on “The Sacred Feminine Biology”, which I feel, is in dyer need to be celebrated in a healthy and respectful manner…

Four pages of notes poured out of me this AM - all part of the booklet to accompany my "Sacred Feminine" collection - hopefully, to be presented to the public "sometime" in the Spring of 2008... I am very pleased and terribly exited with what I see in front of me!!!

Time flies!!!
But, it has not been wasted as a lot of information and research have come about and I am now counting the hours to sit down and begin - will be a few months "off schedule" as it now looks the collection will be "ready to show" sometime in late summer (?) - looks like almost a year in the making!
